September PTA Meeting + Family Fun Event:
Paper Flower Craft Making Party

Please join us for our first PTA general membership meeting of the 2025-2026 school year. It will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 6:00pm - 7:15pm. The meeting be held in person at Longfellow Elementary in the Media Center.
During the PTA meeting a complimentary kids program provided by Amazing Athletes will be held for the children of meeting attendees (grade levels K - 5). You are welcome to have your student bring a small snack to the program. Please note, this will take place in a secondary location at school. More information will be provided when attendees arrive at school.
Immediately following the PTA Meeting will be our September Family Fun Event. To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month we will be hosting a Paper Flower Craft Making Party. All supplies will be provided. Pizza will be available for purchase at $1 per slice.

Your membership allows the PTA the ability to support students, provide resources to teachers and staff, distribute information to and advocate for our school community, and create opportunities for connection.
Members are the driving force behind the work we do. From events and fundraisers to celebrations and hospitalities for our teachers - the PTA and our committees are responsible for these actions.
Most importantly, as a PTA member you have a vote. With your vote, your agency, you help decide the directions that we take, and why we take them.

RESTAURANT NIGHTS (Monthly)

Enjoying good food and great company, while raising money sounds like an awesome opportunity! Every month the PTA organizes a Restaurant Night, where a portion of the sales will be donated directly back to us. All raised money goes to benefit our staff, our students, and our greater Longfellow community.

All Longfellow families are invited to join us at our monthly PTA meetings from 6:00-7:15pm.
K-5 children are welcome to attend our fun, free childcare program while their grown ups attend the meeting. They can bring a snack.
$1 pizza will be available during our monthly Family Fun Events from 7:30-8:30pm following each PTA meeting.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Consider serving as PTA PTACHC (PTA Council of Howard County) Representative for next year. The main responsibility is attending the PTACHC meeting once every or every other month and then reporting back to the members. Email Exec if interested at loesptainfo@gmail.com.
Consider serving as PTA Fundraising Chair for next year. In this new role, this person would be tasked with coordinating the overall fundraising schedule and execution for our PTA, under the guidance of the PTA Executive Committee. Email Exec if interested at loesptainfo@gmail.com.
Consider serving as PTA Events Chair for next year. In this new role, under the guidance of the PTA Executive Committee, this person would be tasked with coordinating the overall planning and execution of the logistics and staffing for the PTA big four community events: Fall Fest, Winter Wonderland, Culture Con, and Spring Fair. Consider serving as our Hospitality Committee Chair. We are so grateful to Kristen Flaherty for the time she’s put into the role. This person would coordinate with PTA Exec and LoES administration to plan and implement lunches, dinners, gifts, etc for our staff most months of the school year. Ideally they would have a team of people helping plan and implement. Email Exec if interested at loesptainfo@gmail.com.
